
The Gölcük Naval Shipyard hosted a formal ceremony today to mark the delivery of the second Reis-class submarine to the Turkish Navy.
The vessel, named TCG Hızırreis, was officially handed over by the German shipbuilder TKMS through the government agency SSB (Savunma Sanayii Başkanlığı).
The first Reis-class submarine was delivered in October 2024, and the arrival of TCG Hızırreis marks another step forward in the contract for the construction of six submarines.

According to TKMS, the German company is responsible for the design, material supply, and support during the construction and testing phases. With the delivery completed, an 18-month warranty period now begins.
Production of the remaining four submarines is ongoing at different stages. According to the schedule of the state-owned shipyard GNSY, the third submarine of the class is expected to be delivered to the Turkish fleet in approximately one year.
